Jointness amongst the three Services of Armed Forces, cooperation and integration among them, future of Joint HQs, Joint Commands and Tri-Service Institutions will be the focus of the two-day Unified Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi, beginning April 16.
The conference will deliberate upon various issues, including the aspects that are required to hasten the pace of integration and the strengthening of existing structures. The Defence Minister Shri AK Antony will inaugurate the conference, whose overall theme is ‘Victory through Jointness’.
A press release issued by the Indian defence ministry, said the conference will also discuss the key achievements and progress made by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS). The HQ IDS will also make presentations on major achievements and contemporary issues of Tri-Service implications.
Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal PV Naik, Chief of Army Staff General VK Singh and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma will also address the two-day conference.
Heads of various Tri-Services training Institutions like Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad and National Defence Academy, Pune, and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence and the three Services will attend the conference.
