The Army Chief will be visiting training institutions as well as the operational headquarters of the French Army and his agenda includes meets with top defence officials in France. The two countries aim to collaborate in co-development of critical technologies and transfer of  hi-end technologies to India. This sort of co-development in crucial technology will be taking place with France in the near future.

India has recently placed an order for 4,100 Milan anti tank-guided missiles and the French firm Eurocopter is bidding for the Indian Army’s requirement of light observation helicopters.

The indigenous Indian Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) is flying with Turbomeca engine and a co-development project  for the  development of a homegrown engine for ALH is also underway with French collaboration.
