The global leader of armoured solutions in Asia, MKU Private Limited has bagged a lucrative contract worth $35 million from state-owned Goa Shipyard and Garden Reach Shipyard of India for armouring high speed patrol boats.
MKU Limited emerged as the winner since their offer exceeded the expectation of India. As per India’s requirement, MKU Limited offered the correct weight to meet threat level, thickness of the panel, durability in a marine environment, value for money and a timeline for the accomplishment of the project. These boats will be used for patrolling in crucial areas and will be suitably armour plated to ensure maximum performance.
Due to the sensitive Indian coastline and the recent attacks on India, the Indian Defence Ministry plans to modernize the high sea patrol boats and Goa Shipyard was entrusted with the job of primarily armouring the Patrol Boats, giving personnel protection as the main area of focus. Goa Shipyard, in turn, awarded this contract to MKU’s since its world renowned in providing integration of Ballistic solutions to platforms along with its German subsidiary AST Security Equipment GmbH.
